Two day national conference at IET Bhaddal Technical Campus

The second National Conference of Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS) of IET Bhaddal Technical Campus on “De Novo Drug Design, Drug Repurposing and Bioactivity – Guided Isolation: Opportunities, Challenges and Way Forward” held on October 13-14 was successfully conducted under the leadership of Dr. Jitender Singh, Principal – IPS.
The conference was organized with the technical support of Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Kashmir, Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir). In the opening ceremony of this conference Dr. Sudipta Banerjee, Vice President – Gesco Healthcare Private Limited, Chennai was the Chief Guest and Professor (Dr.) Anil Kumar – UIPS. – Panjab University, Chandigarh participated as the keynote speaker. On the second day of the conference – Dr. Anupam Sharma – UIPS – Panjab University, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest and Dr. Suresh Kumar, Punjabi University, Patiala, Professor (Dr.) Subheet Kumar Jain, Professor (Dr.) Balbir Singh – GNDU Amritsar, Dr. Sukhbir Singh – MMU and Dr. Pradeep Goyal – Saraswati College attended as special guests. Dr. K.S. Verma – Former Vice Chancellor – Career Point University, Hamirpur was the Chief Guest for the valedictory session of the conference.
Principal of Pharmacy College Dr. Jitender Singh warmly welcomed the guests with bouquets of flowers and shared information saying that in this conference around 300 high class scholars, intellectuals, faculty members, research scholars and students participated from different universities and colleges of the country including Punjab University Chandigarh, P.G.I. Chandigarh, H.P. University Shimla , Central University, Haryana, Kurukshetra University, Chandigarh University, Gharaun, Chitkara University etc and the participating contestants enthusiastically presented their research papers and also gave detailed information about it to the experts.
After this, the chairman of the organization Tejinder Singh said in his address that holding a conference at the national level improves the technical, social and academic knowledge of the students. He encouraged the students and said that by accepting new experiences and challenges, students would become peers of the times. He honored the experts who came to attend the conference and awarded the participants of different subjects.
Dr. S S Bindra, Director Campus appreciated Principal of Pharmacy College Dr. Jitender Singh and entire staff of the institute to make this conference successful. He said that this type of national conference would enhance the academic as well as professional skills of the students and the same is perfect platform for knowledge sharing.
He also appreciated Barsha Deb and Trisha Sharma for their role of stage management. The coordinator of this conference Dr. Jyoti Devi and Ishani said that Gesco Healthcare Private Limited, Chennai, Sri Dhanwantari Herbals, Amritsar, Biogenta Life Science Pvt. Ltd., Una and Biogracia Medical Pvt. Ltd., Una were the sponsoring industries for this National Conference. On this occasion Dr. Kanchan Sharma, Onkar Singh, Vishal Arora etc were also present.
