Two held in connection with murder of Cong councillor’s brother-in-law, relatives stage protest

Rupnagar police have arrested two persons for the murder of one Puneet ,the brother-in-law of Congress municipal councillor from ward no 1 .
Rupnagar SSP Dr Sandeep Kumar Garg said that on November 2 there was a clash between the two parties near NCC Academy Rupnagar, in which a youth named Puneet was killed.
On the complaint of Ashok Kumar resident of Ward No. 1, Sadabart Colony, Rupnagar a case under section 302,307,323,148,149,34 of IPC was registered at Rupnagar city police station, against Ravi son of Kalu, Sahib Singh son of Kalu, Nazar son of Parshotam, Moji son of of Raja, Raja, Neelu son ofRam Singh, Tota son of Bhola of ward no 1 in this regard.
During the investigation, Happy alias Tota son of Bhola and Raja son of Bhola residents of Ward No. 1 Sadabart Colony, have been arrested in the case.
He said that if any other person is found to be involved during the investigation, strict legal action will be taken against him also.
Meanwhile,the relatives of deceased Puneet staged protest outside the SSP office in the mini secretariat with the body of Puneet.
Two held in connection with murder of Cong councillor’s brother-in-law, relatives stage protest. The family members protested and demanded that the police immediately arrest the murderers of Puneet. On this occasion, Punjab Youth Congress President Barindra Singh Dhillon and other Congress workers were also present along with the relatives and residents of the colony.They were demanding the security of the family of the deceased.
On this occasion Barinder Singh Dhillon raised questions on law and order situation .
He demanded that all the accused of this murder should be arrested at the earliest, the family should be protected and justice should be done to the family by investigating the case already registered against the family.
After being assured by the police, the relatives removed the deceased from there and cremated him.
