U-14 JCL league Delhi- Punjab’s Harjagteshwar Khaira adjudged Best Batsman, Scores 168 runs in 5 matches

The fast emerging willow wielder from Punjab, Harjagteshwar Khaira has been adjudged the Best Batsman at the month long U-14 T-20 Junior Cricket League. The 12 year old Opener from Delhi’s Modern Warriors team blasted scored 168 runs in 5 matches at an astounding average of 168. He remained unbeaten in 4 matches.
In the league held at Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, Delhi, Harjagteshwar scored 50 off just 43 balls against Modern Spartans, 44 off 37 balls against UB Lions, 46 off 40 balls against Turf Sultans, 17 off 24 balls against UB Lions and 18 off 21 deliveries in the Final against UB Lions.
In the decider, Modern Warriors beat UB Lions by 10 wickets. Batting first, the UB Lions could put only 81 off 9 wickets on the scoreboard. Chasing the target, Modern Warriors romped home in just 7.5 overs without a loss.
The prizes were distributed by the cricket coach from Modern School, Delhi (Barakhamba Road) Naveen Chopra who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The entire team of Modern Warriors along with Assistant Coach Vipan Singh proudly took the trophy home. On the occasion, Naveen Chopra congratulated the Chief Organizer of the Turf Cricket Academy Sachin Khurana for affording a chance to the young budding players to play night cricket under lights.
