UGC-MMTTC, Punjabi University, Patiala starts 19th on-line “NEP Orientation & Sensitization Programme”

UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC) Punjabi University, Patiala started an 8-day On-Line Programme on National Education Programme (NEP): Orientation and Sensitization.

The inaugural session commenced with the traditional Punjabi University Dhuni, followed by a warm welcome address by Director MMTTC Prof. (Dr.) Raman Maini. Dr. Maini warmly welcomed the chief guest of the day Dr. Himender Bharti, Professor, Department of Zoology & Environmental Sciences, Director, Centre for Restoration of Ecosystem of Punjab (CRESP) and Director Environment cell Punjabi University Patiala, Course Coordinators and all the participants.

Dr. Maini thanked Course Coordinators Dr. Vishal Goyal, Professor, Department of Computer Science, Punjabi University, Patiala and Coordinator IHRMS (Integrated Human Resource Management System), Coordinator Research Centre for Technology Deve and Course Co-Coordinator Dr. Satinder Kumar, Assistant Professor, School of Management Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala for their efforts in inviting internationally renowned resource persons for the NEP Orientation & Sensitization Program.

The chief guest of the day Dr. Himender Bharti said that the purpose of this orientation programme is to prepare teachers for academic excellence, effective professional performance and active engagement in the task of national reconstruction and to popularize National Education Policy.  Dr. Bharti Said that the National Education Policy 2020, introduced by the Government of India, is a comprehensive framework aimed at transforming the Indian education system to meet the needs of the 21st century. It aims to create a holistic, flexible, multidisciplinary education system rooted in Indian values while aligned with global standards.

The Course Coordinators Dr. Vishal Goyal said that One of the most transformative aspects of the NEP is its emphasis on critical thinking, creativity, and experiential learning. The policy moves away from rigid streams and allows students to select subjects across disciplines. This opens doors for creativity, innovation, and truly personalized learning paths. It promotes skill-based education, enabling students to blend arts with sciences, and vocational subjects with academics.

The Course Co-Coordinators Dr. Satinder Kumar introduced the participants about the course.  Dr. Satinder Kumar introduced the participants about various themes of the National Education Policy, encouraged them for active participation.
