UGC-MMTTC Punjabi University starts three new short term courses to enhance quality education in higher education institutes

UGC-Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) at Punjabi University Patiala proudly inaugurated three significant educational courses today. The courses include a Short-Term Course on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML), a Short-Term Course on Professional Development for Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Coordinators, and a course on the New Education Policy (NEP). These initiatives are a part of the University’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of education and professional development in higher education institutions.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of Director UGC MMTTC Punjabi University Patiala Dr. Raman Maini. The Director extended his heartfelt thanks to the Vice-Chancellor, K.K. Yadav, for his visionary leadership and unwavering support. “Under the guidance of K.K. Yadav, our university is making significant strides towards achieving excellence in education. His vision for quality education and learning has been instrumental in shaping these initiatives,” he added.
The Short-Term Course on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is coordinated by Dr. Lakhwinder Kaur, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), and Dr. Abhinav Bhandari, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE. This course is designed to provide participants with cutting-edge knowledge in these transformative fields, enabling them to incorporate AI and ML techniques into their teaching and research practices. The course will cover fundamental concepts, advanced algorithms, and practical applications, making it a comprehensive learning experience for participants.
The Short-Term Course on Professional Development for IQAC Coordinators is coordinated by Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Professor, Department of Mathematics. This course aims at enhancing the skills and competencies of coordinators in maintaining and improving quality standards in educational institutions. The course will offer insights into best practices, strategic planning, and the latest methodologies in quality assurance and enhancement.

Additionally, The course on the New Education Policy (NEP), coordinated by Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Professor, Department of CSE, and Dr. Navdeep Kanwal, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, will provide a detailed analysis of the policy’s framework, objectives, and implementation strategies. This course is crucial for educators and administrators to understand the policy’s impact on the education system and to align their institutions with the NEP’s vision for a more inclusive and holistic education model.
