Unhygienic Paneer production unit unearthed in Patiala; MC, Health department cracks down on factory

Acting on a complaint (Letter No. 1236/MoR) regarding the unhygienic production of paneer, the Health Branch of the Municipal Corporation, Patiala, led by Dr. Navinder Singh, along with District Health Officer Dr. Gurpreet Kaur and her team, conducted a surprise inspection at a premises owned by Paramjit Singh, located at Street No. 3, Jhill Avenue, and took stringent action against the violators.
Dr. Navinder Singh and Dr. Gurpreet Kaur stated that, under the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, regular surprise inspections are being conducted to ensure the availability of quality food products and prevent adulteration.
Dr Navinder said that the operation done under the supervision of Commissioner municipal Corporation Paramvir singh IAS, and Joint Commissioner Babbandeep singh Walia. They emphasized that food adulteration will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
During the inspection, a thorough check of the premises was conducted, with photographic evidence collected and paneer samples taken for further testing by the district health team. The Health Branch also issued a challan for violations related to trade license, pollution, and public nuisance.
Dr. Gurpreet Kaur informed that the collected samples will be sent to the Chemical Laboratory in Kharar for detailed analysis, and further action will be taken based on the laboratory report.
Health officials have warned food business operators against such malpractices, stating that strict action will be taken against those endangering public health.
