University College, Ghanaur organised an interactive session with Young IAS officers

University College Ghanaur,  a constituent college of Punjabi University, Patiala, organized an inspiring interactive session titled “Inspiring Minds: A Dialogue with Young IAS Officers” today on April 28, 2026 with the aim of motivating students to prepare for civil services and other competitive examinations.

Two young and newly selected IAS officers, Simrandeep Kaur (AIR 15) and Rasneet Kaur (AIR 51), were invited as guest speakers for the session. They interacted warmly with the students and shared their personal journeys, preparation strategies, and experiences of clearing the prestigious UPSC Civil Services Examination. Principal Dr.Lakhvir Singh Gill welcomed the distinguished guests and said that the session proved to be highly informative and motivational for the students.

While addressing the gathering, Simrandeep Kaur emphasized the importance of discipline, consistency, and a focused study plan. She encouraged students to remain confident and work hard towards their goals. She also shared useful insights about selecting study materials and managing time effectively during preparation.

Ms.Rasneet Kaur, highlighted the role of self-study, regular reading of newspapers, and staying updated with current affairs. She motivated students by explaining that success in competitive examinations can be achieved through determination, even without expensive coaching.

The students actively participated in the interaction and asked several questions related to examination preparation, career planning, and maintaining motivation during challenging times.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the coordinators of Career Guidance and Placement Cell  Dr.Rohit Kumar and Dr.Gurleen Ahluwalia. On this occasion co-coordinator of the cell AP. Gurtej Singh was also present along with other staff members named Dr.Taranjeet Kaur, AP. Adarshpal Singh, AP. Varinder Singh, AP.Puneet Kaur, Gemini, AP. Manjeet Kaur, Dr.Usha Rani and Dr.Arwinder Singh.
