Untraceable! NIA doubled the reward money on Ludhiana Court bomb blast absconding accused

On December 23, 2021 a blast rocked the Ludhiana court complex killing two people and injuring six. A case in this regard was lodged by Ludhiana Police and FIR No 446/ 2021 dated 23/12/2021 was lodged at PS Division-5, District Police commissionerate Ludhiana. Later on, the probe was taken over by the NIA in 2022.

 

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had announced a reward of Rs 5 Lakh in April this year for information about the ‘person involved’ or ‘information’ that will lead to the arrest of an associate responsible for the bomb blast case in the Ludhiana District Court complex on December 23, 2021 when a blast rocked the Ludhiana court.

 

Now, the premier investigation agency has announced Rs 10 lakh reaward on absconding accused Harpreet Singh @ Happy Singh @ Happy Malaysia resident of Village Miadi Kalan, Tehsil – Ajanala, Amritsar Punjab, presently residing in Malaysia, who is wanted in Ludhiana Court bomb blast case. NIA lodged its own FIR and booked Happy Singh @ Happy Malaysia under sections 302, 307, 124A & 120B of IPC, sections 13, 15,16,18 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. 1967, sections 3, 4 & 5 of Explosive Substance Act, 1908 and : sections 3 & 4 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act 1984.

The NIA has also shared the landline phone numbers of agency’s Delhi and Chandigarh offices along with a WhatsApp number , e-mail id for sharing information linked to the case. As per NIA officials, informant having any information leading to arrest of Happy Singh @ Happy Malaysia , absconding accused will be rewarded with Rs 10:00 lakh and his identity will be kept secret.

The blast took place in the washroom on the second floor of the court complex located before court No. 14 . As per avaialble information, a forensic examination of the blast revealed the use of 1.5kg of RDX planted in a plastic container with a lot of shrapnel packed inside suggesting the objective of the blast was to cause extensive loss of life.
