US came in support of Canada; issues statement on India-Canada row

Adrienne Watson, the White House National Security Council Spokesperson, serving under the leadership of National Security Advisor issues a statement on her official X (formerly known as Twitter) account that “ Reports that we rebuffed Canada in any way on this are flatly false. We are coordinating and consulting with Canada closely on this issue. This is a serious matter and we support Canada’s ongoing law enforcement efforts. We are also engaging the Indian government.”
White House’s strategic communications Chief, John Kirby has said, as he urged India to cooperate in the investigation. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged on Monday that Indian government agents were involved in the June 18 killing of the separatist leader in Canada, an allegation that New Delhi has rejected.
On the other hand, as per reports, a State Department spokesperson informed a media house that “we urge the Indian government to cooperate in the Canadian investigation and ensure that those responsible are held to account.”
