Various competitions organised to mark world tourism day at Rupnagar, DC honours winners

On the occasion of World Tourism Day, various competitions were conducted with the aim of making students aware of the historical and natural places of district Rupnagar and the winning students were specially honored by Rupnagar Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain.

Deputy Commissioner said that with the support of District Administration, Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Punjab and Department of Wildlife Rupnagar, a district level event was organized today at Bird Watch Center and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Bagh where schools And the college students enthusiastically participated in large numbers.

Giving information about the competitions, the Deputy Commissioner said that in photography competitions, Swapnil Pandey  won the first prize, Kush Mahajan got the second place and Manas was honored for securing the third position.

In  the quiz competitions, Parvinder Singh of Government College Rupnagar bagged first prize, Navjot Singh of Government College Rupnagar was awarded the second prize and Harpreet Kaur of Government College Rupnagar bagged third place.

Deputy Commissioner said that the students were given a tour of the important places of District Rupnagar such as Indian Archaeological Museum, Dastan -e -Shahadat,Maharaja Ranjit Singh and Lord William Bentick meeting place, etc. On this occasion, the students were given information about the rich heritage and history of the ancient civilization of Punjab state.
