Vedanta Power Supports Green Drive Honouring Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s Legacy

To commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Vedanta Power’s Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL) has come forward to support a district-level tree plantation drive initiated by the Forest Department of Mansa. The company’s support reflects a shared commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development.

The plantation drive began at the TSPL premises, with saplings planted by Pawan Shridhar, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Mansa, accompanied by the Forest Department team including Iqbal Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Harmail Singh, Jaspal Singh, and other officials. Senior leadership from TSPL present during the event included Pankaj Sharma, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), TSPL, and Vikas Sharma, Head – Advocacy and Environment.

Samita, Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office Bathinda, and Daljeet Singh, Environmental Engineer, Regional Office Bathinda, extended their best wishes for the campaign’s success.

Pawan Shridhar acknowledged TSPL’s consistent efforts in environmental protection, highlighting the development of a 1,000-acre green belt within the plant premises and TSPL’s Guinness World Record for planting over 2 lakh saplings in under an hour-underscoring the company’s capacity to lead large-scale ecological efforts. Smt. Smita also expressed appreciation for this initiative, which embodies hope for a greener tomorrow.

As a symbolic tribute, 3.5 lakh trees will be planted across Mansa district. The plantation follows the traditional Triveni format, comprising Banyan, Peepal, and Neem trees, all of which carry deep ecological and cultural significance.
