Vedanta’s Talwandi Sabo Power Ltd Extends Flood Relief Support in Punjab with Food Kits for Affected Families

Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), Punjab’s largest and North India’s largest private thermal power plant, has stepped forward in this time of crisis to support flood-affected communities in Mansa and adjoining regions. As part of its relief initiative, TSPL contributed over 160 curated food ration kits for distribution in flood-hit areas of Mansa, Budhlada, and Sardulgarh.

The relief vehicle was flagged off by  Navjot Kaur, District Commissioner of Mansa, along with  Kala Ram Kansal, Sub-Divisional Magistrate,  Retinder Kaul, District Programme Officer & Additional In-charge, Red Cross Society, and  Gagandeep Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrate Budhlada & Additional Charge RTO. Representing TSPL at the occasion were  Abhilasha Malviya, CHRO,  Vinay Kumar, Chief Security Officer, Vedanta Power, and  Yeshmeen Mittal, Lead–CSR at TSPL.

Each food kit contains wheat flour, rice, oil, pulses, salt, turmeric, and essential spices to provide immediate sustenance to families whose homes and livelihoods have been impacted by the floods.

During the flag off,  Navjot Kaur, District Commissioner of Mansa, commented, “Punjab is witnessing one of its worst floods in five decades, and timely support is crucial. The contribution of food ration kits by Vedanta Power’s TSPL is a meaningful gesture that will provide immediate relief to affected families. Alongside the ongoing efforts of the Punjab government and local panchayats, such initiatives strengthen our ability to safeguard and support the community in this crisis.”

 Pankaj Sharma, CEO, TSPL, added,” As a plant deeply rooted in Punjab, it pains us to see the scale of devastation caused by the floods. At TSPL, we consider it our duty to stand with the administration and the community during this difficult time. From distributing food kits to families in flood-hit villages to deploying nearly 150 tipper trucks of pond-ash to reinforce the Ghaggar river embankment in Sardulgarh, our efforts are directed at helping the region and its people recover and rebuild.”
