Vice-President will attend special session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha: Rana KP

Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana KP Singh Tuesday revealed that Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu will attend the special session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha on November 6, 2019 to commemorate the 550th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. Other dignitaries and eminent personalities have also been invited to attend the special session. This session would be wholly dedicated to mark the historic day.
He was talking with media personnel after administering oath to newly elected Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali.
Notably, Manpreet Singh Ayali won the bypoll from Dakha Assembly constituency in Ludhiana District. The seat fell vacant following the resignation of former AAP leader and Supreme Court Lawyer HS Phoolka from the state assembly.
The Speaker administered the oath of office and secrecy to Ayali at his chamber in Punjab Vidhan Sabha here.
Earlier in a Cabinet meeting held last week at Batala to review the progress of various projects for the mega events being organized to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of the Great Guru, was chaired by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, approved recommending to the Governor summoning of the 9th session of the House under Article 174 (1) of the Constitution of India.
