Vigilance nabs chief accounts officer for taking bribe

State Vigilance Bureau today nabbed Chief Accounts Officer (CAO) of Pepsu Roadways Transport Corporation (PRTC) Patiala red handed taking bribe of Rs. 5,000/-.
Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Bhupinder Kumar Aggarwal, Chief Accounts Officer (CAO) posted at Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) headquarters on nabha road Patiala was nabbed on the complaint of Bhajan Partap Singh , resident of Bharpur garden, Patiala . The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above named account officer was demanding Rs. 10,000 to clear his pending taxi bills. As per the agreement Bhupinder kumar Aggarwal will take Rs 5000/- in advance to clear the bills and rest Rs 5000/- after clearing the bills.
After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the CAO was nabbed on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs.5,000 as first installment from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.
He informed that Vigilance nabs chief accounts officer for taking bribe and a case is registered vide number 02 dated January 13, 2020 under 7 IPC Act 1988 (amendment 2018) ,Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Patiala and further investigation was under progress.
