Water level in Patiala drains under control,no need to panic-DC

Deputy Commissioner Patiala Kumar Amit has clarified that all drains in Patiala are under control. The water level is flowing low in Ghaggar,Jacob drain and Chumbo chou.
DC Patiala appealed to the residents of Patiala to not to give an ear to the false propaganda, as this will create a panic situation.
DC further informed that, he himself visited the spots along with drainage and irrigation officials to know the situation and to look after the preparation, in case of any emergency. He said at 12 noon, the water level in Ghaggar at Sarala Head is at 9 feet, where as the danger level is 16 feet. Likewise the Patiala Nadi is below 9 feet from danger level. Similarly the Jacob drain at sular is 4 feet where as the danger level is 6 feet.
He further divulged that the level of Ghaggar at village Dharamheri near Hansi Bhutana is 15 feet where as his capacity is 22 feet. Likewise the level of Ghaggar at Khanauri Siphon is 11 feet, the capacity is 25 feet.
He also informed that due to opening of flood gates of Sukhna lake Chandigarh, all the residents of the villages near Ghaggar were put on alert. The water at Sirhind Chou and Tangari is under control.
