Webinar on “Human Rights: A Pathway to Social Justice”

The School of Law and Interdisciplinary Studies, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala, organized a one-day webinar “Human Rights: A Pathway to Social Justice” to mark Human Rights Day under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh, Vice-Chancellor.
The keynote address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Namita Gupta, Centre for Human Rights & Duties (U.I.E.A.S.S), Panjab University, Chandigarh. She delved into the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, issues of contemporary relevance, Human Rights and Social Justice.
She reiterated the need for implementation mechanisms, awareness programmes and policy reforms to safeguard the rights of marginalised communities.She underlined that protecting human rights is essential for achieving inclusive development and social harmony.
Dr.Pinky Sra, coordinated the event. Dr.Sukhpal Kaur extended vote of thanks.The webinar witnessed active participation from faculty members, students, and researchers from other institutions also. Around 40 participants attended the webinar.
