Sahney in his another tweet on October 23 said “How can you stop all indo canadians coming to india ? Do all of them are separtists or support such an ideology. Certainly NO… To punish such a large Diaspora by not granting them visas even for exigencies & in festival season for sake of certain handful fringe elements will be a gross mistake and may alienate our own people . Let Good sense prevail and we deal with these two issues separately as common punjabis at large are true indians. Let’s not punish them @DrSJaishankar @narendramodi @AmitShah @HCI_Ottawa “
Today, once again requested the external affairs minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar to resume visa services to Canadian Citizens to visit India.
He said “More than 15 Gurdwaras in #Vancouver #Canada have requested @DrSJaishankar to resume visas, as the current situation is causing hardships for the diaspora who need to visit their families for urgent matters. While this is a positive step, it’s essential for our Gurdwaras to be more outspoken in condemning hatred and embracing their Indian heritage, where our Great Gurus spread messages of love and compassion. This would significantly contribute to the cause.”
He further added that “I once again urge @MEAIndia and @HCI_Ottawa to urgently reinstate visas, including E-visas, as causing inconvenience to our proud Indo-Canadian community serves no meaningful purpose.”
Indian visa restrictions on nationals of Canada have been urged to be lifted by 15 Gurdwaras in Canada. They have addressed a letter to Dr. S. Jai Shankar, the minister of external affairs for India, pleading with him to relax the limitations because they are impeding trade between India and Canada.
