Women Studies Centre organised Career Counselling Session for Home Makers-Ritu Lehal

Women Studies’ Centre, Punjabi University, Patiala in collaboration with National Commission for Women organised a one day workshop on Promotion of Work for Housewives: Career Counselling Session for Home Makers.
The workshop, sponsored by the National Commission for Women, was organised with an objective of imparting knowledge about entrepreneurship and development of various skills that can be used for attaining self-reliance to the home makers.
It was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Arvind. Prof. Ritu Lehal Director, Women Studies Centre, formally welcomed the experts and the participants. Dr. Devender Pal Sidhu, Director, Entrepreneur Cell, Punjabi University, Patiala was present during the inaugural session of the workshop.
Four technical sessions related to various aspects of self employment opportunities for women home makers were conducted by Mr. Paramjeet Singh, Director, Regional Centre for Entrepreneur Development, Chandigarh; Prof. Ritu Lehal, Director, Women Studies Centre; Dr. Parminder Singh Dhillon, Department of Tourism, Hospitality and Hotel Management; and Dr. Satinder Kumar, School of Management Studies. More than seventy home makers attended the workshop and benefited from inputs provided by the resource persons.
