Workshop on Research Methodology at Khalsa College
Post Graduate Department of English, Cultural Studies and Foreign Languages of Khalsa College Patiala organised a workshop on Research Methodology in which Dr. Tejinder Kaur, Former Director of Centre for Diaspora Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala and Dr. Swaraj Raj, Head, Department of English and Dean Languages, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib delivered their lectures on the fundamentals and insights of research which needs to be analysed once again.
Dr. Tejinder Kaur while throwing light on various aspects of research in literature said that literature deals with human life in all its complexities. One has to become resourceful through intensive reading and should provide fresh insights in the already existing pattern of research.
Dr. Swaraj Raj, while elucidating about the future possibilities of the research said that one has to think about already existing notions of texts. This is the time to add a new vision and interpretation of literary texts. He also told the students about various technical methods of writing research papers.
Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of the college while lauding the department for organising the workshop said that it is the need of the hour to develop a critical faculty of mind towards the research. He further said that it will add to the knowledge of the students and will give them insights into the hidden aspects of literature.
Dr. Deepinderjit Randhawa, Head, Department of English while thanking the guests said that apart from the classroom courses, the department has been striving hard to groom the young minds through such endeavours. During the workshop, the faculty and the students of the department were present.
