World Health Day Celebrated at AIIMS Bathinda: Promoting Health and Wellness

Department Of Dietetics at AIIMS Bathinda celebrated World Health Day on 5th April 2024 with a special event emphasizing the crucial role of diet and lifestyle in preventing diseases.
The event, organized by the Department of Dietetics of AIIMS Bathinda was attended by a large gathering and highlighted the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle to combat various lifestyle disorders.
The event was honored by the presence of Medical Superintendent of AIIMS Bathinda, Dr. Rajeev Kumar, Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Moonis Mirza and Dr.K. Purushottam who both emphasized the significance of a balanced diet and regular exercise in maintaining good health. Dr. Purushottam emphasized that adopting healthy habits can significantly reduce the risk of obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and other lifestyle-related diseases.
The event featured talk by Dieticians of AIIMS Bathinda Dr. Kamna Bhati, Ankita and Puja Kumari. Dr Kamna Bhati in her talk stressed on the benefits of Balanced Diet and including millets in daily diet, as they are rich in nutrients and have numerous health benefits. Millets are known to be a good source of protein, fiber, and essential minerals, and their consumption can contribute to the overall health and well-being.
Additionally, Yoga asanas that can help in managing and preventing lifestyle-related disorders were demonstrated by a certified Yoga instructor Anand Mohan. The audience was encouraged to incorporate yoga into their daily routine for a holistic approach to health.
