World Pharmacist Day celebrated at Pharmacy College, Bela

World Pharmacist Day was celebrated at Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial (Autonomous) College of Pharmacy, Bela near Rupnagar with great enthusiasm.The college of Pharmacy is run by a non-profitable society ‘Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial Society’ which was constituted in year 1975
Under this year’s theme, “Pharmacy is united for a healthy world”, an awareness rally was organized by the staff and students of the college. The director of the college Dr. Shailesh Sharma, Dr. Ajay Singh Kushwah Head of Pharmacology and Dr. Monica Gupta, Head Pharmaceutical Chemistry, sent off with a green flag. The rally started from the college and passed through the market of village Bela and ended back at the college. Later, students’ essay, speech, poster and quiz competitions were conducted.
By starting this program, the director of the college Dr. Sharma enlightened on the history of this day and said that the International Federation of Pharmacists was formed on this day in 2012, therefore this day is celebrated today. He said that currently 132 organizations and more than 30 lakh people are associated with this federation, which are providing health services.
Dr. Sharma said that in today’s time, pharmacists are playing an important role in their field. For example, for a long time, pharmacists have contributed a lot as frontline workers to avoid the corona epidemic. Along with this, pharmacists are also responsible for selling medicines, import-export and making medicines through new technology along with new medicines, new devices to be delivered to the patient at the right time and in the right quantity.
World Pharmacist Day celebrated at Pharmacy College, Bela. To make all this programme successful Dr. Rahul Sharma, Dr. Neelam Sharma, Harsimran Singh, Noel,Namita Saini, Sandeep Kaur, Chaman, Baljeet Kaur and Ramandeep performed their duties very well.
