World University deliberates on “Guru Teg Bahadur Ji: Bani and Sandesh

The Department of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Religious Studies of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organised a webinar dedicated to the 400th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji on the topic of ‘Guru Teg Bahadur Ji: Bani and Sandesh’. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Prit Pal Singh in his presidential address said that Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji had sacrificed himself for the sake of humanity and if we truly want to celebrate the fourth centenary of Guru Sahib Birth anniversary, we should live our lives in a way which Guru Sahib has guided through his Bani. Dr. Sukhwinder Singh Billing, Dean Academic Affairs of the University welcomed the guest speakers, Dr. Jaspal Kaur Kang and Dr. Paramvir Singh to the webinar.

On this occasion, Dr. Jaspal Kaur Kang, Professor, Panjab University, Chandigarh shared her views on the martyrdom of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji and said that Guru Teg Bahadur Ji was such a great soul who embraced martyrdom for the protection of Tilak and Janju. She added that many seminars, conferences have been organized recently and research papers been read and published in the memory of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji; these seminars and conferences would pave the way for the guidance of future generations.

Dr. Paramvir Singh, Head and Professor, Department of Sikh Encyclopedia, Punjabi University, Patiala, speaking on the life and philosophy of Guru Sahib Ji, said that man should live in the fear only of God and must not fear anyone or anything else. He added that one who is attached to Akal Purakh is always aware of his true purpose in this life. He also provided valuable information about the travels of Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji and their significance.

World University deliberates on “Guru Teg Bahadur Ji: Bani and Sandesh”. At the end of the webinar, Dr, Kirandeep Kaur, Head, Department of Religious studies formally thanked the guest speakers, Dean Academic Affairs, Head of the various Departments, in-charges and students.
