World University marks successful placement day; distributes offer letters to placed students

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Fatehgarh Sahib is proud to announce the successful conclusion of its Placement Day event, held on April 26, 2024. The event saw a significant turnout of students who were selected by various companies all around the year.
Throughout the academic year, the Training and Placement Department at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University has been has been actively engaged in efforts to reduce the bridge between academic learning and industry requirements. The university has taken many initiatives like conducting comprehensive placement drives , career fair and providing training to improve the soft skills and technical skills of the students in order to make them ready for the competitive job market.
The Placement Day event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Kamaljit Kaur, overseeing Training and Placement, where she emphasized the university’s dedication to fostering collaboration between industry and academia, and outlined the various activities undertaken by the department. Under her guidance, various companies from sectors such as IT, Engineering, Management, Food and Healthcare presented numerous career opportunities to the students. Notable recruiters throughout the year included Lenskart, Reliance Retail, Oppo Mobiles, Acxiom Consulting, HF Super, Coco-Cola, YHills Edutech, Relinns Infotech, Bayatree, ICICI Bank, Decathlon, Mechlin Technologies, E-Clerx Services, Ellocent Labs, Advanta Innovations, Just Dial, Akal Academy, among others. This year’s Career Fair 2024, held in the first week of April, saw over 150 students being selected by 25 different participating companies, each of whom received Offer Letters on the Placement Day. The average salary package for the selected students stands at 8 LPA, reflecting the competitive opportunities offered by the participating companies.
Dr. Pritpal Singh, the Vice Chancellor of the University, thanked all the recruiters who participated throughout the academic session and on the Career Fair for their support and confidence in SGGSWU’s academic excellence. He also commended the students for their commitment, effort, and outstanding performance, highlighting the university’s dedication to empowering the future leaders.
