World University organised a CME webinar on “Understanding Spine”

The Department of Physiotherapy of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organised a CME webinar in collaboration with Shalby Multispecialty Hospital, Mohali on the topic “Understanding Spine – when to call in a surgeon”. This event was dedicated to 400th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji.
On this occasion, Dr. Aditya Banta, F.N.B spine surgeon and consultant was the guest speaker. Dr. Banta shared information on spinal pain describing the myths and various causes related to spine problems, while explaining the importance of correct assessment and treatment options. He emphasized on multidisciplinary approach and the importance of proper referral system for the management of spinal ailments.
He added that physiotherapy plays a vital role in post-operative rehabilitation to facilitate early recovery. Dr. Banta is the recipient of prestigious VTI Gold medal by the Association of Spine Surgeon of India in 2018, for his research conduct of spine fellowships in India.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Prit Pal Singh congratulated the Department for organising such an informative event. Dr. Supreet Bindra, Assistant Professor and organising secretary of the event welcomed the guests. At the end Dr. Pankajpreet Singh, In-charge, Department of Physiotherapy thanked the guest speaker, the faculty members and the students. He informed that more than 300 students have participated in this webinar.
