Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University organised a poster making competition on the theme of “Green and Clean Diwali”. Students from various departments of the University participated in the competition and made posters highlighting the theme of the competition. Pro-Vice Chancellor of RIMT University, Dr. B.S. Bhatia graced the occasion as the chief guest. Dr. Bhatia appreciated the efforts of the students and said that concrete efforts are to be taken to spread awareness in this regard. He said that we must celebrate Diwali as the festival of lights only and not by burning fireworks and polluting the environment.
Dr. Bhatia in his address highlighted the health hazards posed by the pollutants emitted by the fireworks. Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Sukhdarshan Singh Khehra said that the students must motivate others as well to opt for a cleaner and greener Diwali.
