World University organized an event to aware society against female foeticide

The Department of Physiotherapy, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organized a special lecture on female foeticide, an event dedicated to 550th parkash purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Dr N.S Bawa from Bawa Hospital, Bassi, Chairman, P.N.D.T. Act. Punjab IMA was the resource person. Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Pritpal Singh presided over the function. Dr. Pankajpreet Singh, Incharge, Department of Physiotherapy, welcomed the dignitaries and began the event by commemorating the message of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji (So Kyon manda akhiye, jit Jamey rajaan).
He shared that the talk was very interactive and Dr Bawa sensitized the students and staff on the importance of women in society and various challenges faced by women in their day to day life by asking questions to the students and distributing awards to them for the right answers. An exhibition of more than hundred posters on female foeticide was also displayed by the resource person.
Dr Pritpal Singh appreciated the efforts put in by Dr Bawa and congratulated Department of Physiotherapy for organizing an event on such a sensitive issue. He exhorted that the sacred hymns of Guru Nanak Sahib lead us to face the challenges posed by such sensitive issues and their solutions also. At the end of evnt, Dr Pankajpreet Singh presented the vote of thanks. On this occasion, Dean Student Welfare, Dr Sarpreet Singh, Prof Tejbir Singh, Head, Department of Physics and Professor Incharge, Examinations, staff and students of Department of Physiotherapy along with staff and students from other departments of the University were also present.
