Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, remembered the martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s younger sons Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh and Mata Gujri Ji by taking part in the Nagar Keertan here today on the last day of Shaheedi Sabha.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Sukhdarshan Singh Khehra said that the University organised various events and activities across the three days of Sabha to spread awareness among the pilgrims and to facilitate their stay in this holy city. Dr. Khehra was of the view that these three days should be dedicated to remember and pay obeisance to the holy spirits who laid their lives for the protection and betterment of Sikh Community and we as the society should refrain from over indulging ourselves in materialistic things for these three days at the least.
The Vice Chancellor told that keeping in mind the above thought the Varsity had organised activities like Dastaar training camp to imbibe in young minds, who are becoming Patit, the concept of Dastaar in Sikhism and its importance.
Exhibition of religious books and Sikh literature was held to inculcate the habit of reading and to remind the youth and children the rich heritage and culture they have inherited. Physiotherapy and Homeopathy camps were organised to treat the weary pilgrims, in which over 500 patients were attended to across the three days. Religious documentary shows were held in the evening in which documentaries based on the Sahibzaadas and Sikh Martyrs like Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, Baba Deep Singh, Bhai Matti Das ji etc were shown. The Vice Chancellor said that the institutions established on this pious land should come forward and take greater responsibility to spread the message of the Sikhism and the cause for which Guru Gobind Singh’s whole family laid down their lives.
