World University Punjabi department students visited book fair

The Department of Punjabi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University organized a tour of the students to the book fair at Punjabi University, Patiala. Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Incharge, Department of Punjabi, said that the purpose of the visit was to inculcate and maximize the book reading habits amongst the students’ along with their exposure to the quality literary books.
She said that this educational tour of the students of M.A. (Punjabi) was led by ECA In-charge, Dr. Bhinder Kaur and faculty member Dr. Binder Singh. Dr. Bhinder Kaur said that during this book fair, students purchased literary books according to their interests and got chance to meet various renowned writers and scholars reached over there. She further said that the students also visited Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha Library at Punjabi University, Patiala. Professor Incharge ,said that publishers from different publication houses exhibit their publications, books in this Book Fair and are also offer a special discount on their publications.
Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr. Prit Pal Singh said that such educational tours help the students to make positive progress in the knowledge base and personality of the students. He appreciated this effort to link students with books and motivated the organizers to continue with such activities in the future.
