World University Sensitise Students about their Right to Vote

As part of the SVEEP activity, students of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib participated in a Rangoli competition organised by Fine Arts Club to create awareness about their right to vote in the forthcoming Assembly election. The students participated with zeal in the competition and presented their ideas with the help of colours and slogans as well as stretch of their imagination. The Rangolis depicted various aspects of election like voting rights, EVM machine, responsible voting behavior etc.

Dr Preet Kaur, Dean Students’ Welfare of the University, lauded the efforts of all participants. She informed that university has been regularly conducting activities under the programme to create awareness among the youth about the upcoming elections in the state. She added that Social Awareness club of Department of Education conducted interviews of the student to collect their views on elections and also to check their awareness about voting rights. It was found that the students were very excited to vote and contribute in the government forming process. Taranjot Kaur (B.A.-B.Ed Batch 2018), Sandeep Kaur (B.A.-B.Ed Batch 2018) and Gurdeep Kaur & Amritpal Singh (M.A. Political Science Batch 2021) were declared first, second and third, respectively.

World University Sensitise Students about their Right to Vote .Prof.( Dr. ) Ajaib Singh Brar, Pro-Chancellor of the University appreciated the efforts of the students and asked them to vote with responsibility. He said that in the coming elections we should elect a good leader who can lead the government to ethical construction of a good society. Prof. (Dr.) Prit Pal Singh,  the Vice Chancellor of the University also motivated the students who are above 18 years to get them registered so that they are able to contribute to the governance of the nation.
