World University to start new courses in management, agriculture, physical education

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University’s School of Commerce and Management (SCM) is fully geared up to start new skill-based course Bachelor of Management Studies (Gurdwara Management). It would be started in collaboration with Panth Ratan Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra Institute of Advanced Studies in Sikhism, Bahadurgarh, Patiala.
Another course, M.P.Ed. has been started by the Department of Physical Education, with approval of N.C.T.E, New Delhi. Two courses of M.Sc.(Plant Pathology) and M.Sc.(Horticulture) are being started in the Department of Agriculture of the University.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Prit Pal Singh shared that the University has well-equipped laboratories, required infrastructure and dedicated faculty to run these courses.
Vice Chancellor Dr Pritpal Singh said that “in order to encourage the needy and meritorious students who cannot afford to pursue higher education, and keeping in view the mandate of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Act, the University awards ‘Sri Guru Granth Sahib Scholarships’ to 10% needy and meritorious students in all courses, against additional 10 % supernumerary seats i.e. the seats over and above the sanctioned intake.”
