YPS goes online on its 73rd foundation day

Yadavindra Public School (YPS), Patiala celebrated its 73rd Foundation Day on Tuesday, 2nd February, 2021 through virtual platform, adhering to the social distancing norms in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

YPS Foundation Day 2021 was totally a virtual affair to bring their staff and students together for celebrations. An online drawing competition for class IV-XII was organised to keep everyone involved in the celebrations. Around 1000 students exhibited their best creative skills on various themes related to the History and Heritage of YPS.

Keeping all the COVID-19 precautions, a customary Cricket match between OYs and School Team was held in the YPS cricket ground.

“Foundation Day 2021 is an opportunity to acknowledge and compliment all the YPS team for their untiring efforts to keep things going smoothly during tough times of COVID pandemic. I also pay my gratitude to the parents for their extraordinary support”, expressed YPS Director, Maj Gen Sanjiv Varma VSM(Retd.) on the solemn occasion of YPS Foundation Day.

About YPS

The genesis of YPS, as a matter of fact, lies in the Aitchison College, Lahore (the only Public School in Pre-Partition Punjab). On 2nd February 1948 the school started functioning with a meagre strength of 21 students and 9 teachers, with RaiBahadurDhani Ram Kapila as the Principal. The school was an improvement on Aitchison College in that there was no social restriction on the admission of students.
