YPS, Patiala, Celebrates Platinum Jubilee Foundation Day
Yadavindra Public School, Patiala,founded by erstwhile Highness Maharajadhiraj Yadavindra Singh of Patiala, in its 70th year of inception, is celebrating its Platinum Jubilee Foundation Day on 1st and 2nd of February ,2018 .
The occasion , among other distinguished guests , present and old Yadavindrians and parents, is being graced by the Chief Minister of Punjab and School Patron , Captain Amarinder Singh , Maharaja Dr. Karan Singh of Jammu and Kashmir ,Maharaja Brigadier Sukhjeet Singh of Kapurthala , School Chairman, Raja Malvinder Singh (younger brother of Capt. Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister of Punjab) and YPS board members.
The celebrations on the first day include the Pagal Gymkhana followed by a Fete with scrumptious food and fun-filled game stalls .The proceeds generated are being used for the worthy cause of the educational rehabilitation of children affected by farmer suicide cases in the Patiala district . A friendly Cricket Match between the Old Yadavindrians XI and Present Yadavindrians XI will be played on home grounds and School English Play ‘Sound of Music’ ,acclaimed and appreciated by one and all , will be restaged in the evening at the Harpal Tiwana Centre for Performing Arts, Nabha Road, Patiala .
The second day will commence with a religious ceremony to pay obeisance to the School Founder, His Highness Maharajadhiraj Yadavindra Singh and a cultural show put up the school students.
Apart from the above festivities , the school’ s old students’ association , AYOSA , is contributing richly to the event. AYOSA( Aitchison Yadavindra Old Students’ Association ) is a vibrant organization , presently headed by Rupinder Garg , that works vociferously towards keeping the past and the present of the school together. The alumni body, for this occasion , will be hosting a special dinner on February 2 ,which will be preceded by an eagerly –awaited show presented by ace comedian , Kapil Sharma , on the school precincts.
