YPS, Patiala Director Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

In a momentous occasion that has filled Yadavindrians with pride, Maj Gen BS Grewal VSM (Retd), Director of Yadavindra Public School, Patiala, has been conferred with the esteemed Lifetime Achievement Award at the Global Conference hosted by the Principals Progressive Schools Association, Uttrakhand.
The conference, held at Pestleweed School, Dehra Dun, on December 20-21, 2023, brought together 117 member schools and over 300 teachers and 100 Principals from 18 states under the theme “Designing Strategies for Success.” The Lifetime Achievement Award, presented at the concluding ceremony of the conference, recognizes Maj Gen Grewal’s exceptional leadership, dedication to education, and outstanding service to the nation. Maj Gen BS Grewal is also an Old Yadavindrian whose journey began at YPS, Patiala in 1963.
Maj Gen Grewal’s illustrious career in the Indian Army, culminating in his retirement as a Major General in 2010, laid the foundation for a post-retirement chapter of transformative contributions to education. His pivotal role in founding the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute solidified its position as a top-performing feeder institute for the National Defence Academy, with over 250 cadets joining various service academies.
Maj Gen Grewal’s unwavering commitment to excellence has not only elevated both institutions but has now garnered global recognition. The award is not just a personal achievement but a testament to the impact his vision has had on shaping the future leaders of our country.
