YPS Patiala to host 28th Col Frank Von Goldstein Debate
Patiala-Yadavindra Public School, Patiala is going to host the 28th Col Frank Von Goldstein on May 3- 5, 2018. As many as 13 teams from leading schools will participate in this prestigious debate, which was initiated in 1989 in the honour of Col Frank Von Goldstein (former Headmaster and iconic figure of the School).
This debate will be held in a modified parliamentary/Cambridge form and will be judged by panel of eminent judges in the Preliminary, semi-finals and final rounds.
The purpose of organising this debate every year is to pay the tribute to Col Frank Von Goldstein, who inspired the students to enhance their debating skills. The Students involved in debates and speech develop higher-level thinking skills through the research work they go through for their topics. They develop the confidence of speaking their mind and placing their views in front of others. It also increases problem-solving abilities and overall academic performance.
