YPS Robocist wins in world championship

The techno savvy young roboticists of Yadavindra Public school, Patiala have proven their mettle once again.15 students, under the expert guidance of their mentor  Ashutosh Tripathi and teacher escort Sunny participated in the World Robotics Championship held at Thyagaraj Sports Complex in New Delhi on September 23-25. After making their mark in the Inter School events, these young technologists have added one more feather in the cap.

Around 5000 participants from various schools, colleges and professional technologists from across the world took part in this championship. The event comprised of several events like Robo War, Robo Race, Robo Soccer, Water Rocket, My Innovation, etc. Yadavindrians competed against the college students and the professionals and won 3rd position in Robo Soccer event. The team also qualified amongst top 11 groups in Water Rocket event. The skillful and competent team has also won cash prizes of worth Rs.15000.

At YPS, Robotics is being run as a hobby and all the keen students desirously learn different and innovative concepts of Robotics engineering every day. “It was a great opportunity for our students to participate in World level championship. It has definitely whipped up their confidence. Our students have immense talent and inquisitiveness towards this technology and we are hopeful to get many more accolades in the upcoming competitions,” said  Tripathi. It is noteworthy that YPS students have won several Inter School competitions in Robotics so far and participating in such a grand event was a big leap indeed which will gradually enhance their learning.
