250 families of PSPCL to get letters on compassionate grounds on July 16

Rampura (Bathinda)- On the intervention of Power Minister, the department has started recruiting such people on compassionate grounds. In its first phase, the PSPCL will give appointment letters to 250 such families on July 16 at Bathinda. However, it is not meant for those families that had taken monetary compensation at the death of their kin who was working with Power department.

However Punjab’s Minister for Power, New and Renewable Sources of Energy Gurpreet Singh Kangar congratulated the entire staff of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited for surpassing its own record this paddy season on July 9, 2018 by meeting with maximum ever demand of 12542 MW in the state and supplied 2675 Lacs units of energy without imposing any power cuts in Punjab. Last year on July 11 maximum demand for power was 11705 MW and PSPCL had supplied 2672 lacs units. He  said that the PSPCL has achieved this fete as it not only focused on power generation but also aggressively worked in preventing the power theft.

While presiding over sangat darshan programme held at village Dyalpura Bir today, the Power Minister ruled out clipping of PSPCL sports cell. He added that the Punjab government was in favor of encouraging sports culture among the youth and absorbing then in suitable avenues. Instead to boost of sports activities in state and particularly amongst the players associated with PSPCL, Powercom will be hosting matches of various sports activities in Bathinda, Patiala, Jalandhar and Ludhiana. Since Punjab Police and PSPCL are the largest organizations in state giving dignified jobs opportunities to talented sports persons, this decision on the part of Power Minister is a welcome relief to the young players.

SDM Rampura Subhash Chander Khatak, Naib Tehsildar Puneet Bansal, XEN Rampura L.K. Bansal, XEN Bhagta Kamaldeep Arora and others were also present.
