The three-day annual Urs,observed in the memory of Sheikh Ahmad, the most prominent disciple of Khwaja Baqi Billah—that commenced at the tomb of Sheikh Ahmad Farukhi is considered one of the holiest places in Islam is going to observed from October 26 to October 28.

Thousands of devotees are expected to pay obeisance at the tomb of Hazrat Sheikh Ahmed Farooqi Sirhindi Mujaddid Alif Sani on the first day of three-day Urs at Rauza Sharif in Sirhind on October 26.

Deputy Commissioner Fatehgarh Sahib Dr Prashant Kumar Goel chaired a meeting of the officials of various departments and reviews the preparation of annual Urs. He directed the officials to made proper arrangements for the annual Urs.

Deputy Commissioner also directed the Police department to make proper security arrangements as a large number of Muslim devotees from various parts of the country and outside India will come to Sirhind , to pay their respects.

Superintendent of Police Navreet Singh Virk, Assistant Commissioner (General) Charanjit Singh, SDM Sanjiv Kumar, Khalifa Rauza Sharif, Executive officer Gurpal Singh along with officials of other departments were also present in the meeting.

Sri Rauza Sharif (Sirhind) Fatehgarh Sahib

On the Sirhind-Bassi Pathana Road, near Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib is the magnificent RAUZA OR DARGAH of Shaikh Ahmad Faruqi Sirhindi, popularly known as Mujaddid, Alf-Isfani who lived in the times of Akbar and Jahangir from 1563 to 1624. The Shaikh is held in high esteem and is considered by Sunni Muslims to be second to Prophet Mohammed. For this reason, this mausoleum is regarded as a second Macca by the Sunni Muslims. Every year, thousands of pilgrims from various parts of world visit this place to participate in the celebrations, known as Urs of Shaikh Ahmad Sirhindi. The date of annual celebrations varies from year to year.
