68th Annual Athletic Meet organized at Govt. College of Education, Chandigarh

68th Annual Athletic Meet was successfully organized at Govt. College of Education, Chandigarh, Sector 20 Chandigarh. Shubham Sharma and Amrit were adjudged the best athletes among boys and girls respectively during the second day of 68th Annual Athletic Meet of Govt. College of Education, Chandigarh.
The event was inaugurated by Hari Kallikkat, IAS, Secretary Sports, Chandigarh Administration. Guest of Honor was Sorabh Kumar Arora, PCS, Director Sports Chandigarh Administration. Bagicha Singh, Arjuna Awardee was the chief guest during prize distribution. Dr. (Mrs.) Sapna Nanda, Principal welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries present on the occasion.
Singh while lauding the achievements of the winners congratulated all the athletes who had participated in the sports events. He expressed his appreciation of the immense talents of the students, who performed with great sportsmanship. He added that it is a day to learn about health and fitness. Playing sports makes us fit and strong. It also makes us happy and energetic. So, let’s play sports not just today, but every day.
Formal vote of thanks was extended by organizer of the event Dr. Neelam Paul, incharge of Sports Department of College. In all, around 27 events as races, discus throw, shot put, long jump, chatty race tug of war, skipping race were organized as part of the meet. All the events witnessed enthusiastic participation by the students of B.Ed., M.Ed. and PGDGC classes. A Fancy Dress Competition was also organized.
