73rd annual academic day marked at YPS, Patiala

Yadavindra Public School, Patiala celebrated its 73rd Annual Academic Day on Friday, August 12, 2022 in the school auditorium. The event was held to felicitate the achievers of academic year 2021-22. The board members of YPS, Patiala, teachers and proud parents of the achiever students were present to witness the event.

Prof. Baldev Setia, Director Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The event started on a spiritual note by presenting a musical and instrumental amalgamation of Pandit Ravi Shankar composition ‘Bhumi Manglam’ by the school choir. Thereafter, the Chief Guest gave a zestful start to the event by lightening the lamp.

The present Head Boy Sarvagya Dev Thapliyal, Head Girl Hinam Walia, Deputy Head Boy Manraj Singh and Deputy Head Girl Eekisha Ahluwalia presented the Annual Academic Report of the school. The Junior school report was presented by Dhruvi Garg and Ransher Singh Dhanesar. The report showcased the hard work and achievements of students in various fields like academic, sports and extra-curricular activities.

YPS Director, Maj Gen Sanjiv Varma, VSM (Retd.) addressed the gathering and mentioned how well YPS has managed during and after the pandemic. He lauded the efforts put in by the staff and parents during the online to offline transformation phase. “It gives me immense pride to share that our students are performing exceedingly well in all spheres. The pandemic has failed to affect their true Yadavindrian spirits,” he expressed with delight.

The students were felicitated with the awards of Platinum category in academics, medals for best performers subject wise and cultural activities. Jasnaaz Sidhu bagged 5 awards, amongst which was the most illustrious award, Yadavindra Gold Medal and Dr. Karansher Sidhu Trophy and Scholarship of Rs.15,000/-. Yuvnoor Dhillon, not only made school proud by ranking 2nd in All India Merit list of ISC Board exams but also won 4 prestigious school awards like Aitchison Yadavindra Old Boys Medal for Standing First (Humanities), Gurnam Singh Memorial Medal for Best Result in ISC (Humanities) and Goldstein Memorial Prize for the Best Effort.

Gunmay Garg of ICSE batch was felicitated by 3 awards which include Aitchison Yadavindra Old Boys Medal for Standing First in ICSE and Dr. Karansher Sidhu Trophy and Scholarship of Rs.11,000/-.

The Best All Round Student Trophy of Junior School was bagged by Shreya Gupta.

A musical presentation (western) and a vibrant and energetic folk dance, Bhangra by Girls mesmerised the audience with their performance. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Deputy Headmaster of YPS,  Anil Bajaj.
