75th annual academic day marked at YPS; Uday, Samaira bagged Yadavindra Gold Medal and Dr. Karansher Sidhu Trophy

Yadavindra Public School, Patiala celebrated its 75th Annual Academic Day on Saturday, August 10, 2024 in the school auditorium. The event was held to felicitate the achievers of academic year 2023-24. The board members of YPS, Patiala, teachers and proud parents of the achiever students were present to witness the event.
Vivek Atray, Ex IAS, Author, and a motivational speaker, was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The event started on a spiritual note by lighting the lamp and Guru Vandana.
The present Head Boy Malik Arjun Ahluwalia and Head Girl Divroop Kaur Sandhu presented the Senior school report. The Deputy Head Boy, Vardhan Bansal and MH Captain, Dhriti Jain played a major role in conducting the event. The Junior school report was presented by Inaara Kaur Jagirdhar and Dakshveer Singh. The report showcased the hard work and achievements of students in various fields like academic, sports and extra-curricular activities.
YPS, Patiala Headmaster, Navin Kumar Dixit addressed the gathering and congratulated all the students and the parents. He said, “As Headmaster, I am deeply committed to the all-around development and well-being of our students. Looking ahead, my vision for the school encompasses academic excellence, with a strong emphasis on co-curricular activities and sports. I believe that by fostering a strong partnership with all stakeholders, we can create an environment where every child’s potential is fully realised.”
The students were felicitated with the awards of Platinum category in academics, medals for best performers subject wise and cultural activities. Last year’s head boy Uday Singh Batra and head girl Samaira Singh bagged the most illustrious awards – Yadavindra Gold Medal and Dr. Karansher Sidhu Trophy and Scholarship of Rs.15000/-
Individually, Uday Singh Batra won Best Academic Result in Senior School and Samaira Singh got Ludra Medal for Best Result in Economics (ISC).
Karaninder Singh of ISC batch won 3 prestigious school awards which include Aitchison Yadavindra Old Boys Medal for Standing First (ISC), Nalagarh Medal for the Best Average in Science and Maths. Karaninder Singh and Gurkirpa Singh Sarao shared the S. Harnam Singh Bal Maths Genius Award of Rs.7500/-.
Kabir Sabharwal won the Sardar Harmeet Singh Batra Gold medal for standing first in ISC(Commerce).
Enayat Kaur Sandhu won the Gurnam Singh Memorial Medal for Best Result in ISC(Humanities).
Mannat Ghuman won the Gurnam Singh Memorial medal for Best Result in ISC (Medical).
Avraj Singh Manchanda, ICSE District topper was felicitated with the 4 most prestigious awards Aitchison Yadavindra Old Boys Medal for Standing First in ICSE and Dr. Karansher Sidhu Trophy and Scholarship of Rs.11,000/- being one of them.
Best All Round Student Trophy of Junior School was shared by Sarah Jain and Viresh Jindal. The Champion House Cup for the Best All Round House was won by Dhani Ram House.
The chief guest, Vivek Atray congratulated all the young achievers. He applauded the efforts put in by the teachers and the students in successful conduct of the event. He motivated students to overcome fears and focus on happiness.
A musical presentation and a vibrant and energetic dance mesmerised the audience with their performance. The event concluded with a vote of thanks.
