772 cases  settled in  Lok Adalats at Rupnagar

As per the directions of Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar (Mohali), a Lok Adalat was organised  at District Court, Rupnagar under the chairmanship of District and Sessions Judge Harpreet Kaur Jeevan. A total of 13 benches were constituted in this Lok Adalat at Rupnagar, Sri Anandpur Sahib and Nangal which heard the cases and disposed of them on the spot.

A total of 772 cases were disposed of in this Lok Adalat and awards amounting to Rs. 104155599 crore were passed.

Civil Judge Senior Division-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Rupnagar said that the National Legal Services Authority appealed to the people to settle the pending cases through Lok Adalats. He further said that cheap and sustainable justice was being achieved through the Lok Adalats and there was no further appeal for the Lok Adalat award and the decisions taken by the Lok Adalats were permanent.

In addition, the decisions of the Lok Adalats promote communal harmony by removing bitterness in the society. He appealed to the people to make the most of the Lok Adalat. Civil Judge said that for any information regarding legal services, one can contact the Punjab State Legal Services Authority toll free number 1968 at any time. and said that the next National Lok Adalat would be held on August 13, 2022.
