818 awarded degrees at second convocation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib held its second Convocation on May 27, 2023. Chancellor of the University Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee presided over the Convocation and conferred the degrees to the graduates of the University. Dr. Ajaib Singh Brar, the Pro-Chancellor of the University delivered the Convocation Address. 118 Research scholars received their PhD degree. Besides this, more than 700 students of the University received Postgraduate and Graduate degrees and twenty five students were awarded the University medals.
In his address, Advocate Dhami motivated the students to commit themselves to academics and to work for a bright future. He narrated many anecdotes from his personal life to drive home the point that if we are determined, then nothing can stop us from achieving our goal. He congratulated the University and hoped that it would continue its march towards excellence and produce good, knowledgeable and thinking citizens. He congratulated the students for their academic achievements and added that the University postgraduates and graduates would bring glory and honour not only to themselves but to the University and their parents as well. He wished the students a bright future.
In his Convocation Address, Prof. (DR.) Ajaib Singh Brar said that University pass outs are embarking upon a new journey which is full of challenges and opportunities too. He added that the students should feel lucky that they had got an opportunity to study in an institution which was primed for excellence. He added that Punjabis have made their mark in all walks of life on the global level; their examples prove that the present students can also achieve great success in their life. He stressed that the students of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, which seeks inspiration from the highest values enshrined in the Holy Granth, have a greater responsibility to be the torch bearers in the troubled times. In doing so he added, they can bring laurels to their alma mater, Punjab and the country. He remarked that a university is a vibrant place for not only dissemination of existing knowledge, but for generation of fresh knowledge as well. He expressed his satisfaction at how well this University is contributing in this regard. He added that in order to attain excellence, the University is promoting research in a big way. He expressed the hope that the University would certainly and soon emerge as the one of the best higher education institutions in the country.
818 awarded degrees at second convocation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University. The Vice chancellor of the University, Dr Prit Pal Singh said that it is a matter of great pride and honour for the University that the Chancellor himself was there to bless the students. He presented the annual report of the University and expressed his delight over the achievements of the faculty and the students. He stressed that the University is dedicated to providing the best possible environment to its students.
Dr. SS Billing, Dean Academic Affairs of the University proposed a vote of thanks. Jagdeep Singh Cheema, Avtar Singh Riya, Amarjeet Singh Sidhu, Baldev Singh Kaeempur, Advocate Amardeep Singh Dharni, Surinder Singh Kishanpura, Er. Sukhminder Singh, Dr. Chamkaur Singh, Principal Dr. Lakhbir Singh graced the occasion with their presence.
