9th passed writer Ninder Ghugianvi will be awarded “Sahatya Ratna” by Panjab University

Panjab University Chandigarh has announced to give Sahitya Ratna to Ninder Ghugianvi, 48 years old and author of 68 books, on the occasion of its 71st convocation on March 7, 2024.

Ninder Ghugianvi is the first Punjabi writer to be appointed Writer in Residence at Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University Warda, Maharashtra.

About 12 students have done M.Phil and Ph.D on the books written by Ninder Ghugianvi a 9th passed writer. All the universities of Punjab have made his books part of their syllabus.

It is special that the English translation of Ninder Ghugyanvi’s autobiography (I was judge’s orderly)  who started his journey as an orderly in the court of a judge, was published by the National Book Trust of India, Delhi, and this book has been translated into 15 languages ​​of India.

9th passed writer Ninder Ghugianvi will be awarded “Sahatya Ratna” by Panjab University . Short films have been made on many of his writings and he has done research work on the folklore and culture of Punjab. On receiving Sahitya Ratna from Panjab University Chandigarh on the 71st convocation, he said that his responsibility towards art and literature has increased even more than before.
