MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli Initiates Rs 2.5 Crore Development Projects in Patiala

Patiala MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli, continuing the legacy of his forefathers, toured the city’s markets and streets on a scooter alongside Patiala Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Rajat Oberoi. This initiative aimed to provide the commissioner with a firsthand view of the city’s challenges to resolve them on the spot. During the visit, the MLA also initiated various development projects worth Rs. 2.5 crore to improve the city’s infrastructure, reiterating his commitment to being available for his constituents 24/7.
Interacting with residents, MLA Kohli mentioned that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, work on numerous long-pending projects in Patiala is being resumed to ensure citizens face no inconvenience.
Among the inaugurated projects were:
– A drainage pipeline installation near Arya Samaj Chowk, Puri Road, and Sarhindi Bazaar, costing Rs. 94 lakh.
– Construction of streets in Gher Sodhia and Bagichi Mangal Das areas for Rs. 68 lakh.
– Repair and installation of UPVC pipelines in Jattan Wala Chowtra and Sarhindi Bazaar, worth Rs. 44 lakh.
– CC flooring and road repairs from Sadar Bazaar to Arna Barna Chowk and roads in Shamsher Singh Mohalla, costing Rs. 37 lakh.
MLA Kohli expressed regret over the neglect by the previous governments, which failed even to maintain the inner roads of Patiala. However, he assured residents that the current government is determined to address public grievances. He highlighted that Rs. 25 crore is being spent on parks, roads, streets, and other facilities. Key infrastructure work on major roads and internal streets is underway in all wards.
