“A jatha of 101 farmers will leave Shambhu Border at 1:00 pm on December 6,2024 for Ambala enroute to Delhi” said the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) leader Sarwan Singh Pandher at a press conference.”
We have chosen December 6 for the second phase of 2.0 stir as it’s a martyrdom day of Sikh Guru, Guru Teg Bahadur Ji who got martyred at Delhi and we are also going to Delhi to press for our genuine demands” said Sarwan Singh Pandher.
He added that “the first ‘Marjiwra Jatha’ comprising 101 farmers will leave for Ambala after celebrating the martyrdom day and performing the ardas” at Shambhu border on foot.”
Pandher said it’s a testing time for the central, Haryana government, leadership as they had pointed out during the first phase of our 2.0 stir that “why the farmers are insisting on to go to Delhi with Tractors, Trolleys? Why can’t they go without them? Now, we are going on foot and now they are backtracking from their words. This has come evident from the action of Haryana government as the district administration of Ambala in Haryana on Wednesday asked Punjab farmers to reconsider their proposed march to Delhi on December 6 and told us to contemplate further action only after getting permission from the Delhi Police”.
“The Ambala administration has imposed Section 163 of BNSS (earlier Section 144) restricting assembly of five or more persons in the district and has issued notices at the protest site near Shambhu border. This act of Ambala administration or Haryana government seems for farmers only as no one except farmers are targeted. The Haryana police is strengthening Shambhu border, testing water cannons, drones. As per available information, 2 companies of Haryana police has also arrived at Shambhu border. Our plan to go to Delhi is from Shambhu border, but the Haryana police is strengthening the Khanauri border also for without any reason” added Pandher.
