The Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM), under its flagship Hunar Scheme, is equipping plumbers in Patiala with advanced skills through a specialized Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) training program under the Punjab Hunar Vikas Yojana.

The three-day residential training, held from January 15 to 17, 2025, is being conducted at Chitkara University’s state-of-the-art “Iconic Plumbing Lab.” This program is a collaborative initiative of the Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM), the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA), and the Patiala Plumber Association.

Focused on industrial and general plumbing techniques, the training emphasizes efficient water management and equips participants with skills that enhance their employability and contribute to sustainable water resource practices.

The program was inaugurated with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony by Dr. Ajay Goyal, Head of the Civil Department at Chitkara University; Amrit Singh, IAS, Mission Director of PSDM; Kamal Kishore from MGSIPA; and Sachin Gupta, Founder Member of the Patiala Plumber Association.
