Finally, BACS gets full time Director General after almost 3 months; senior IPS appointed DG

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Civil Aviation for appointment of Rajesh Nirwan, IPS officer of 1992 batch of Rajasthan cadre as Director General, Bureau of Aviation Security (BACS).
He is replacing Amrit Mohan Prasad (IPS: 1989: OD), DG, SSB, who was ex-post facto entrusted with additional charge of DG, BCAS w.e.f. 01.11.2024 on January 21,2025.
Former full fledged Bureau of Aviation Security (BCAS) DG Zulfikar Hasan (IPS: 1988: WB) was retired on October 31,2024. Since then the post remained vacant. The appointment of DG was delayed despite hundreds of hoax bomb calls have been reported setting the alarm bell ringing for the aviation sector and its operations.
Rajesh hails from Jodhpur. He has done CA, MBA and Master in Police Management.
