International conference on ‘Applications of AI and Machine Learning’ begins at Engineer Bhawan, Chandigarh

The International Conference on Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is taking place on February 22-23, 2025, at Engineer Bhawan, Sector 19, Chandigarh.

The event is jointly organized by The Institution of Engineers (India), Punjab and Chandigarh State Centre, Association of Professionals, and Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala.

On the first day, the conference was inaugurated by Dr. Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor of Panjab University, Chandigarh, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Baljit Singh Khehra, Registrar of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala and on the behalf of Chairman, Institution of Engineers, Chandigarh delivered the welcome address, while Dr. Abhinav Bhandari, Convener of the Association of Professionals, shared key insights on the conference’s theme.

The session featured contributions from distinguished speakers, including Prof. (Dr.) T.S Kamal, Former Vice President of the Institution of Engineers (India) and by Dr. Harpreet Singh, Professor at Wayne State University, USA. Er. SS Mundi, immediate past vice president IEI discussed about the achievements of IEI, Punjab and Chandigarh state centre.

Dr. Manish Snehi, Senior Technology Architect at Infosys Ltd., USA

Dr. Ravinder Singh Jandu, Head of Digital & Systems Team, Cabinet Office, London (UK)

The speakers emphasized the significance of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in the modern world, highlighting their role in enabling businesses and individuals to analyze large datasets, make faster, informed decisions, automate repetitive tasks, personalize experiences, and drive innovation. These technologies are seen as vital in enhancing efficiency, productivity, and competitive advantage across various industries in today’s rapidly evolving landscape.

As collaborative team partners from Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala, this program is attended by faculty members Dr. Karan Sukhija (Assistant Professor), Dr. Pooja Aggarwal (Assistant Professor), and Dr. Monika Pathak (Assistant Professor). In addition, the program is supported by IT and administrative team members, including Er. Robin Singh, Er. Chandan Adhikari, Er. Tarun Puri, Maninderjot Singh, Mohanjit Singh, and Jaswant Kaur.
