Huge financial irregularities found in Bikram Singh Majithia’s case-SIT

Today, shiromani akali dal leader Bikram singh Majithia was interrogated by the special investigation team (SIT) headed by DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, IPS, along with AIG Varun Sharma, IPS and SP Yogesh Sharma, PPS at Patiala’s police lines in the drugs case registered against him.

After the investigation, SIT member Varun Sharma, IPS shared the day’s progress and informed that the SIT has broaden its investigation part and included the financial angle involved in the case registered against Bikram Singh Majithia.

During the investigation, huge suspicious financial irregularities were found in the firms owned by Bikram Singh Majithia and his family members. A huge cash was deposited both in Indian and abroad accounts during the period when Bhola Drug Case was unearthed. Financial transactions were found made in overseas firms.

Today, the SIT has asked questions about the sudden rise in assets, financial transactions made in Bikram Singh Majithia’s account.

He added that SIT is investigating the involvement of four accused and out of these four, three accused are settled abroad. The SIT is issuing a Blue Corner notices (To collect additional information about a person’s identity, location or activities in relation to a criminal investigation) against them.

Sharma added that other central agencies like income tax, enforcement directorate (ED) are also involved in the SIT’s investigation.

The SIT is investigating the case in a professional and scientific way. The SIT has asked Bikram Singh Majitha to join the investigation on March 18,2025 at Patiala police lines.

The SIT will investigate the case deeply and will call the accused settled abroad to join the investigation. We will follow the diplomatic or any other possible channel to bring the accused to join the ongoing investigation.

Majithia was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act on December 20, 2021. It is worth noting here that it was during Charanjit Singh Channi-led government when the SAD leader was booked.
