Senior congress leader and Punjab cabinet minister Brahm Mohindra son Mohit Mohindra, is now a days preparing himself for up the upcoming assembly elections. He is working in Patiala (Rural) constituency, presently represented by his father Brahm Mohindra in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha.
He got a OPD mobile clinic van from a NGO Mehr Foundation and using that van as a “Vaccination At Your Door Step” campaign, for political gains. The govt don’t allow any independent or NGO to run door step covid vaccination drive. He had launched this vaccination van with his posters on them. The number plate of that van has also been covered with white tapes.
When contacted the civil surgeon Patiala Dr Prince Sodhi, he said “we have not authorised him for any “door to door of vaccination or vaccination at your door step campaign. Punjab govt is already holding covid vaccination camps at every nook and corner of the city, district, State. Moreover, that vehicle/ Ambulance/ Covid vaccination van is not registered with us, in Patiala. If any person is not able to come at the Covid vaccination centre, our health worker, doctors will go and vaccinate that person and that to in government vehicle not in any private or NGO vehicle. But we won’t allow any person, NGO to organise door to door Covid vaccination drive. It’s purely a government entity.” When asked than who allowed him to use this campaign (Vaccination at your door step). He passed the question and said please contact SMO Tripuri Dr Vikas Goyal, he might have this information.”
When contacted the DSP (Traffic) Patiala Rajesh Sanehi over the covering of number plate of the above said vehicle (Ambulance), he said “though I don’t know about this but yes its an offence, if the person who is using this vehicle has covered the number plate. It is liable for challan for violating the government rules. I’ll look into it”
When contacted Gagandeep Singh of Mehr Foundation he said “the above said vehicle is not a Covid Vaccination Van . It’s a mobile OPD van, donated by Oswal group to Faridkot based doctor for holding eye checkup camps. Later i used this at Covid Care Centre Mohali for shifting patients. When the covid care centres were closed down, Mohit Mohindra, who is a friend of mine asked me to give this van to him. So, I gave him the vehicle. For what purpose now he is using, I don’t know.”
When contacted Mohit Mohindra to take his version, a person who attended the phone call said he is in a function and you can call his PA Himanshu, as he is with him. When contacted Himanshu he said “he is in a function. He will call you after the function. After waiting for around forty minutes, a whatsapp message was also dropped on his number and his PA Himanshu’s number. Later a text message was also sent on their mobile numbers. But nobody responded, till the filling of this report.
